Yelp'd this place while on the bay and could not have been happier with the choice. The wings were perfect for my taste and the fish tacos were amazing. Nice little find if you are out on a boat rental and are looking for a dock bar.

Omg. So I wanted to find a place walkable. This place was just a short 10-15 walk from the boardwalk. I'll put my complaint up front. There is very little signage to find this place. That said. It's totally worth it. I had the rib eye blackened and a crab cake. The rib eye was cooked perfect, the blackening was just right. It had the kick and the build which is difficult to do. The crab cake though. Omg. No only was it amazing, so was there sauce. The weight staff was great, the mgr shared the recipe for the sauce. What can I say they checked all the boxes. Five stars guys!!

The Reel Inn is truly a hidden gem! Great service and atmosphere with AMAZING food! The tuna was the best I have ever had, not to mention the spring rolls and the coconut key lime pie. Definitely will be back!

In Ocean City for our regional Shop.com conference. I went for lunch today with my team. Wow! Their first day open, and the food was great! It was 58 degrees but their back deck was protected and sunny. Crab cakes: YUM! Black and blue burger: delicious! Blackened grilled chicken strips: very good. The service by Megan was great. She made wonderful suggestions on the menu, and was attentive and lovely. We will put this on our list for next year.

An excellent dining experience! The food was delicious and, while it was definitely a more obscure location, the quaint ambiance was a refreshing change from the touristy, in your face scene of the majority of OCMD restaurants. I enjoyed the lemon roasted mahi and my husband ordered the grilled tuna -- both were sublime. Even the chicken tenders from the kids menu were cooked fresh to order. We were seated directly adjacent to the dock and the relaxing charm can't be overstated. I can't wait to go back -- food, service, atmosphere -- all 5 stars. Fabulous.

As a year-round visitor to Ocean City, with family who are local, the summer months are often spent BBQ'ing at the house or traveling to Berlin to avoid crowds for meals. We always welcome finding a new, quality place where there are minimal, summer crowds. Reel Inn certainly fits that description. Off the beaten path, tucked away in the townhouse community of Harbor Island, is the Reel Inn Restaurant & Dock Bar. I've always rode my bike past the area several times but never bothered to venture in because of the security gate -- you can completely ignore that security gate, by the way. Just ride on by -- you'll even notice a small sign in front of the security gate that says "Home of the Reel Inn Restaurant & Dock Bar". There is a private lot specifically for non-residents, who are coming just for a bite to eat. Now to the food... For apps, we ordered crab dip and a seafood sampler (Assawoman Trio, I think?) which consisted of tuna bites, blackened scallops, and shrimp. It all was insanely delicious. I ordered the grilled jerk chicken tenders. Again, delicious. Family and friends also ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, fish tacos, and the jerk chicken wrap with crab meat. No complaints from anyone. Beer menu is nothing special. Fair prices but your standard run-of-the-mill Budweiser, Coors Light, Corono, Natty Light-nonsense. They did have 60 minute, though. Orange Crush was cheap but I've had better. Still satisfying. Atmosphere was relaxing. Solid background reggae and country music. View was 30-foot-something boats and what not. Only complaint was how sllllllllloooooooooooowwwwwwww the service and kitchen were. Granted, we were starving, so if we weren't so hungry we wouldn't of taken notice as much -- weather, view, company, conversation and everything was clicking on high cylinders -- but like I said, we were very hungry. To be fair, I only witnessed one guy serving the six other tables that were also seated. Our party of seven was the largest table. Whatever. Like I said earlier, this isn't a place that appears to be flooded with people on a nightly basis. They are open year-round and probably have the Harbor Island community and repeat customers as a majority of their business. I fully intend to be one of those repeat customers and be hanging out at the bar, trying other food and drinks this coming winter.

After spending an arduous day of housing round after round of drinks at Seacrets, the figurative bar for dinner was set extraordinarily low. In fact, that bar was actually set by the Bachelor in the party at "food." So I used my quick fingers and Yelp due diligence to find a place by the name of Blu Crabhouse And Raw Bar and booked a reservation for 12 @ 7:30pm. It was close to 7:10 when I made my way over to the Bacheor's hotel room to find half of our 12 person party unshowered, unkept, and partially undressed. But that wasn't the issue that deserved the most attention. The most critical issue was that the future-groom himself lie next-to lifeless on the bed, virtually unwakeable and fully unprepared; a dilemma that was promptly solved by the quick application of ice to his bare and uncovered feet. By the time I was able to organize and prep the motley crew of gentleman- I had to cancel the reservation at Blu Crabhouse & Raw Bar... which I can only say now was a blessing in disguise. It was not until I found myself in the lobby of the hotel with 90 percent of the party, that I did a search by current location on the hotel and found Reel Inn Restaurant And Dock Bar. 42 reviews with 4 stars you say? I called up the restaurant and was greeted by a man with a kind voice, "Hey there! How long would the wait be for a table of 12?" I asked. "OH, I could seat you!" he replied. "Ok, great! We'll be over in 10 minutes" That was too easy... I said to myself. There are few reasons why a restaurant wouldn't be packed in Ocean City on a Saturday night during the summer. 1. The customer service and food are both equally atrocious and the entire community knows it. 2. A very large reservation just cancelled, and they have a lot of open tables. 2. The restaurant is so hidden that no one knows about it. Thankfully, the reason the restaurant was so empty on this Saturday night was because it is located in the back depths of a gated condo community that sits directly on the bay at 14th street. Not only is it hidden in Ocean City itself, it's hidden IN THE CONDO COMMUNITY. It doubly hidden. It pretty much exists in the spacial fractures of time and space in a planet outside of this galaxy. Sorry... I've been watching Star Trek Voyager recently. When you're walking up to the restaurant, you're not even sure it is a restaurant, cause it has the appearance of a nice clubhouse sitting next to the central condo community's pool. There's not really an entrance with a hostess stand.. so just come in through the bar and someone will come up to you and help ya out. Which is one of the many reasons that Reel Inn is so special. The other reasons... 1. The food is freakin' delicious 2. The service is friendly and down to earth 3. Most of the restaurant exists outside with a backdrop of 300K+ Yachts 4. The whole operation seems family run 5. Did I mention the food is freakin' delicious For appetizers, we started with the Tuna Bites, Old Bay Chicken Wings, Crab Dip, and shrimp. The Crab Dip was well seasoned, warm, served in bread bowl with an adequate amount of crab. The old bay chicken wings rival some of the best wings I've had. The meat was super tender fall of the bone perfection, housed inside of a wonderfully crispy outer shell. The Tuna Bites ( served medium-rare. something I'm not used to) were my favorite app. The size of the bites justified the extra cooking time, and the sauce, wasabi, ginger, and seaweed salad were clean and light enough to perfectly compliment the fish. For my entree, I ordered the Reel Crab Cakes. The crab cakes were baseball sized rounds of lump crab meat. The dish was 28 dollars. But I kid you not; I almost felt uncomfortable eating them as I felt like I was partially robbing the restaurant. I'll be honest, it takes ALOT of crab to fill me up. Usually when I do all-you-can-eat pick & eat style crabs, I just get tired and give up. I'm usually bleeding from some several parts of my hands that are inevitably salt-filled with Old Bay packed into the wounds, and the novelty of picking has completely worn off and I give up. These crab cakes had so much crab that I was uncomfortably full from eating both of them. I wasn't gonna waste any piece of a crab cake though... it's against my religion. But seriously, I could have gone without apps and just had the crab cakes and been set. I love how a little teriyaki sauce mix was thrown on the rice- though the rice did taste a little "one-minute-ish". The green beans were also lacking a little something. Maybe a char or some garlic/butter. But the crab cakes were perfection. Pure unadulterated numerous ounces of lump crab meat. The owner came over and thanked me for calling them up and bringing everyone over to Reel Inn. Just the cherry on top of the whole awesome meal. I can't wait to go back. If I lived in Ocean City, I would surely be a regular.

Their Fish Taco's are very very good! The have a wide selection of things to eat and their Orange Crush drinks are fresh and not pre-made. The only issue I have is he parking. Not very many spots because it's in a community called Harbor Island on 14th St bayside.

This is another one of my Oc favorites. It is very popular towards the end of the summer especially during the white marlin open. The restaurant is smaller but with a lot of warm touches throughout the entire place. It is right on the water so you can sit and enjoy the view of all the beautiful boats while you dine. You can have the choice of inside or outside seating. The service is always good and quick no matter the wait. The Reel literally has the BEST best best BEST tuna on the eastern shore I would bet money on it. The tuna is best when medium rare and it comes with the most amazing sauce. If you are a big seafood person this is the place to go. The tuna, scallops, and shrimp are all amazing. Another one of my favorites here are the fish tacos. They come with a ton of toppings and you get to make your own. The best thing about this place is obviously the tuna, but while you are here you also must try the grapefruit crushes. They are my favorite summer drink, and I must say that they are some of the best in town! Be sure you take your plastic cup as a souvenir of one of your favorite places in Oc!

Wow what a find. While definitely "off the beaten Ocean City boardwalk path the Reel Inn is a real find. The Reel Inn is about a .5 mile walk from 17th street and is tucked in a gated community. The Reel Inn is a dock side establishment and for us the incoming boats really heightened the ambiance and our experience. We arrived at about 6 pm on a Sunday evening there was a short five minute wait during which time we easily secured seats and the bar and enjoyed light conversation with very friendly locals. The Reel Inn has a vast selection of beers but nothing on tap. After about five minutes the hostess seated us at a corner table of the outdoor patio. While we did have to flag down the waitress to serve us that was one glitch in an incredibly delightful service and meal experience. While a live acoustic solo act played appropriately beach friendly tunes we perused the menu. We had crab balls and steamed shrimp for our appetizers. The crab balls are amazingly delicious all tasty bits of back fin and little, if any filler. The steamed shrimp were cooked well and also delicious. We ordered a delicious Match Box cabernet which was wonderful and a perfect complement to our meal and dining experience.

Nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find! Plus, they don't answer their phone when you call to ask for directions. It's tucked away amongst a bunch of condos--i.e. you have to go past the guard at the gate to get in, and apparently there is no signage because of the good ol' HOA. We were happy when we finally found it, as it's on the water and is a nice place to hang out at night. We were excited to finally sit down and check out the menu, but that's when our hope faded. Our server informed us that they were out of nearly everything on the menu that we were interested in: crabcakes, avocados, etc. We immediately left and likely won't be back since it was so hard to find and then was such a let-down.

Came in here for brunch and ordered the lightly blackened scallops and crab cake sandwich. The place is cute, tucked along the marina, very nice and welcoming change of scenery from the douchey frat feel in town. 2 stars for the food - the scallops were drenched in oil, not cooked evenly but seasoned well. The mango sauce it came with did not belong on the plate - too sweet and did not complement anything. The crab cake did not taste like anything at all - not seasoned well and somehow lost the sweetness of its own juices. The mango sauce from the scallop dish did not help this crab cake. The burnt parts of the bun did not help either. Maybe I ordered the wrong things...

Always impressed! We having been going to this place for years! Yes, It is tucked away in a condominium but that's the nice thing about it! It's right on the water and the staff and food are amazing. They have the best Orange Crushes around! They have a great Happy Hour as well. In all the years we have been coming we have never not once received more than the best service in Ocean City.

We were looking for a nice, quiet place with atmosphere but without the crowds. We arrived around 5:30pm looking for a drink and a light meal. We ended up getting their Happy Hour burgers (only $5 or $5.75 w/ cheese) which were delicious and quite large. Comes with chips and a dill spear. I asked the waiter what their best drink was and they said their Happy Hour drink was their Orange Crush...YUMMMY! It was great - very refreshing. The outside covered deck was delightful and very comfortable and the view was spectacular!

If there is a better tasting meal at a better value than the fish tacos, please clue me in. I am sure the rest of the menu is great, but I may never find out.

It pains me not give Reel Inn a 4th or 5th star, but the last two times we've eaten there, service was not great. It used to be one of our favorite OC lunch spots. We pull up in the boat and enjoy delicious tuna sandwiches and grilled fish tacos. The food is still wonderful, but the service is kind of awkward and not particularly friendly. Plus , they charge for ice tea and soda refills - something new this season. We will probably go there again, but with so many fabulous places that appreciate the business, we are in no hurry to try it again soon.

Cool place with friendly staff not a bad view with all the sport fishing boats either! If you love and outdoor atmosphere this is the place for you! Also accessible by water! Grapefruit crushes are the best around town!

Awesome! What a find. We come from a great restaurant town and this was still one of the best seafood meals we have ever had. I got an 8oz. beef filet and a jumbo lump crab cake with wild rice and grilled vegetables. My wife got a sampler of blackened shrimp and scallops with a jumbo lump crab cake with the same rice and veggies. Both meals were outstanding! Save room for the coconut key lime or peanut butter pie. Oh, and the crab dip appetizer, too. Wow! We were thrilled to have found something so great in a beach town, where frozen or deep fried is the normal fare. The staff was friendly, service was good, with a nice atmosphere -- bar seating / live music area indoors, and dockside seating on the outdoor deck. No draft beers, but the usual suspects in bottles and a few choices of wines. The place is located inside a gated community, so park on the outer streets, walk thru the gates and turn left, then look for the boat dock.

    (5)
  • Diane Z.

A cute, homey place that is probably family owned. The staff was really nice, and the patio feels like someone's backyard. The winelist on the wine bottles is a cute touch. However, this does not make up for the sub-par food. The tuna did not have the right color and texture to it. The crab cake was full of filler. I wanted to like this place, but the food was really lacking. Also, the parking spots are behind the insurance company or realty, whatever it was. It's hard to find this place, you have to go into the little community and park and walk through to the dock area.

Dinned here with another couple. We are glad we followed another review and parked outside the gate and walked in. Wait time was about five minutes on Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend. We started out with beer and orange crush which was good. The ice wasn't crushed but it was still really good. The owner walked over to our table and asked how we heard about it...we told him yelp. Said he has been there for 20 years. The men both had the captains platter and thoroughly enjoyed the crab cakes and the scallops. The shrimp was the best. Fries and broccoli came with the platters. The for the ladies I had the single crab cake with broccoli and fries. The other meal was the chicken Chesapeake wrap...so yummy. The only negative problem was they ran out of the cream of crab soup. That was a let down. Totally worth it off the beaten path.

What a nice little hidden place! It's right on the marina in a gated community. Friendly staff. Good food. Love the atmosphere. I had the wings and they were very good. They give you a choice of 6 or 12 wings. My husband said the burger wasn't something to shout about but it was good. He did love the Bumbleberry Pie though. So much that he considered having a 2nd piece! Will go back when I am a little more hungry so I can try the Tuna Sandwich which they are known for. (I will say that it is very open so if you don't like smoke, you may want to steer clear because when someone smokes outside, it blows right through.) Be sure to follow the previous posters tip on finding the place.

Amazing service... amazing food, amazing atmosphere. What else needs to be said. This is a true off the beaten path gem... this is as good as it gets. This is the kind of place you want around your neighborhood... Slightly strange location, but it totally adds to the atmosphere. Waterfront location and something for everyone, $9 sandwich (I had tuna sandwich, delicious!! ) to $35 blackened Mahi Mahi. You need to include this place in your visit, you will not forget it.... Thanks Reel Inn for a great memory !!

  • Theresa R.

Definitely off the beaten track and was kind of hard to find when waking over. Our waiter was very friendly and the food was great and reasonable. Hard to find a cheap meal at a sit down restaurant. We all ordered asppetizers - chaos fries (cheese fries with ranch and bacon), friend calamari, crab dip pretzel, and scallops. The calamari was awesome - tentacles and all! I really enjoyed the pretzel crab dip too. For a meal I just went ith grilled cheese because I knew I would be full from the appetizers. We sat on the patio overlooking the marina. Only downside was a guy at the nexttable kept passing gas - GROSS!

  • Craig S.

Food is good but you want a $100 check turn into $152 then this is the place for you. Their drink special are orange crushes. The waiter said they had no oranges but we could get lemon or grapefruit. However he neglected to tell us they cost a lot more. If you cannot serve your special, should not a substitute be the same price? No oranges?? There are quite a few grocery stores in OC. Never again, I will not be ripped off. No wonder it wasn't crowded. We saw two tables walkout because of terrible service. That says a lot

I decided to take a detour on my road trip this past weekend and stop in Ocean City, MD to see what it was all about. Using Yelp I was able to find a reasonably priced place opened for lunch on Mother's Day in the off-season. Reel Inn is a waterfront restaurant and bar in the middle of a condo/marina community. We had a bit of a hard time finding it, but were persistent and it paid off! We found some restaurant designated parking and a sign pointing us in the right direction. We were greeted by very friendly staff as there were only a few patrons inside. We sat near the TV and almost immediately the volume went down and nice music came on. We ordered crabcake sandwiches and crab bisque because obviously we were in Maryland! Both were delicious and super fresh. A man, assumed to be the owner, came over and asked how everything was. We said it was great and we were happy we stopped by. He explained that he wasn't allowed to advertise on the main road, which I'm sure has hurt his business severely. Regardless I think he said they had been there for 22 years and I wish them many more! I was super happy to be able to sit somewhere quiet by the water and enjoy some local specialties. I hope you'll stop by the next time you are in the area..

My wife and I were looking for a place that served good crab cakes and was kid friendly. By chance we came across this place on Yelp. Thankfully another reviewer gave us the way to locate this place through a Homeowners Association. The "Orange Crush" was delicious and the white wine recommended to my wife was excellent. The crab cake was excellent, it was baked with just enough seasonings and had no bread crumbs (the way i make them) and the seafood platter had lovely seared scallops. My 10 year loved the Mahi fish tacos. I only get to the east coast once a year and I want good seafood, the Reel Inn is definitely worth it. Next time we go to Ocean City a stop a the Reel Inn will be made.

This is for people in the know know. I hesitate to yelp it because this place is a great get away from the night clubs full of bro and broettes jamming hard to horrible music. All the seafood dishes are great. I recommend the fish tacos and anything with fresh tuna. Price are very reasonable for seafood in OC. I've already said too much. You're on your own for how to get here!

    (4)
  • John B.

As other reviews pointed out it is very difficult to get too. We came in by boat there is very limited dock space, even though we were told when we called there was a lot room. After we finally got there the wait was not very long, when the waitress took our drink order I ordered a martini. She didn't know what a martini was and had to bring a manager over to clarify the order. When our food arrived they forgot our sons grilled cheese, the waitress said she would be right back with his food. The rest of the family finished our entire meal and they still had not brought out his grilled cheese. 25 minutes later the grilled cheese finally arrived....unbelievable! The other meals we ordered were average at best, you can find much better food in Ocean City with better service and better prices. This is one place we will never return too.

Took us a while to find this place. Walked in and were not greeted by anyone. As soon as someone acknowledged me and my family, they told us where the hostess was. Went up to where he was only to be turned away because "there is a big party coming". We were really looking forward to eating here but we're extremely disappointed. Food might be great but we didn't even get to try it out.

Reel Inn was very weird to get to. You have to walk through a housing complex that had a big sign reading, "NO TRESPASSING." Uh? Once we found it, I guess we entered the wrong way. No hostess in sight and the bartender looked at us like we had three heads. After finally sitting down, we were eager to check out the menu. A seafood place in MD... Let's get some crabs! Wait... They don't have any. My sister and I decided to share calamari and steamed shrimp. Both were very flavorful and came out quickly. I had the Watermelon Crush, which was absolutely amazing!! There was a guy playing music and that was cool. All in all, not a terrible experience, but nothing very astonishing either.

  • Samantha R.

The food and service are great. The manager/ owner (female brown hair) is awful. I came here twice and witnessed her scream at a waitress in front of guests. She also asked our table to leave because she had a reservation on a Sunday evening. We were not told this prior to being sat. There were other empty tables in the restaurant. She is abrasive and very unprofessional. It's quite the deterrent to eating at such a fine local establishment.

Amazing little seafood restaurant. Captains platter was very good. Crab dip was awesome. Will definitely come back. Off the beaten path in OC but worth it. Atmosphere is very chill and pleasant on a summer evening looking out into a bay with docked boats.

Read other reviews about location - they are spot on. Cute place - very clean looking and overlooks complex' nice array of boats. Two items we had were worth noting - probably the best crab cakes we had so far in OC - mostly all meat with little filler. Also the crab dip was very good as well served in a toasted bread loaf boat. Dinner we had fresh veggies and homemade mashed potatoes. Nice change from some of the horrible tourist traps in town.

Couldn't agree more with the great reviews of this place. It's tough to get to, but worth the trip to this little hidden bar. Surrounded by the beautiful boats in the marina, and hugged up to the neighborhood pool of a cool little gated community...very cool. The atmosphere is very friendly and seems family owned. Staff was great and music selection was perfect for the setting... Take a trip out there...steamed shrimp for happy hour is great. Orange crush is there specialty drink and it's perfect. If I was going to build a bar and pick the perfect spot, atmosphere and wanted locals as my primary customers...this would be it. Cheers

Found the Reel Inn on Yelp, and I'm so thankful! What a hidden treasure! It was hard to locate this place (you have to drive through a private waterfront community), and then it's through unmarked white posts... but once you find this lovely restaurant on the water, you will be pleased! Everything was wonderful: live music (with an awesome drummer!), excellent service, relaxed atmosphere, outdoor seating, and did I mention the food?! Because it rocked! I had the seared rare tuna (ask for it since it wasn't on the menu) with sauteed mixed veggies (fresh zucchini, yellow squash, onions, carrots, and more.. so good!) and also got to taste the crabcakes (ALL crabmeat! Wow!) and the steak. Everything was scrumptious! Next time I'm in town, I'll be sure to come back! I hiiiighly recommend this place. I haven't written a review in a long time, but this place was so good that I was inspired to get back on here. Oh and the owner was sooo nice and really thanked us for our business. :)

The Reel Inn is a little hard to find, but well worth the effort. We had an excellent meal consisting of filet mignon, crabcakes, seared ahi tuna and calamari. Everything was beyond excellent with great service and a great atmosphere overlooking the marina. We will make this a regular stop!
